We have a few important announcements for the week of January 22nd.
MSD Warren Township and the Warren School Board will be hosting its Annual Legislative Forum this Saturday, January 25th from 9:00 - 11:00 am. This event will be held at the Warren Education and Community Center at 975 North Post Road. We are encouraging parents, staff, and community members to attend and engage with District and school board leaders, local legislators, and our community on topics related to public education in the current legislative session. Topics for this session will include Attendance, Literacy, School Safety, Teacher Compensation, Property Taxes, and School Counselors.
Celebrate Our Amazing MSD Warren Township School Counselors
Speaking of School Counselors! Did you know MSD Warren Township is home to 38 incredible school counselors? Now, more than ever, it’s essential to honor and recognize their outstanding work. National School Counseling Week, celebrated during the week of February 3rd, is the perfect opportunity to show your appreciation. Whether you're a student whose life has been positively impacted by a counselor, a parent who has witnessed their dedication, or a community member who values their contributions, here’s your chance to spotlight an exceptional Warren counselor. Nominate your favorite counselor by completing the form linked here by Thursday, January 23rd. Thanks to our Warren Arts and Education Foundation, prizes will be awarded, including one counselor receiving $150! Please join us and celebrate their hard work and commitment!
Supporting Mental Health Through a New Partnership
We are thrilled to announce a new partnership with The Cook Center for Human Connection, an organization dedicated to supporting the mental health and well-being of our community. As part of our commitment to proactively supporting students’ overall well-being, MSD Warren Township, in collaboration with the Central Indiana Education Service Center, (CIESC), is partnering with ParentGuidance.org to offer a series of monthly webinars. Developed by licensed therapists, these virtual and interactive sessions are designed to empower parents and caregivers with tools to support their students. Registration, attendance, and interactions during the webinars will remain completely anonymous to ensure privacy for all participants. The first session, Helping Your Child Succeed - Three Parenting Styles is Monday, January 27th from 6:00 - 7:00 PM via Zoom. Registration information is below.
WCHS 8th Grade Parent Night & Showcase
On Tuesday, January 28th from 6-8 pm, we will be hosting our 8th Grade Parent Night at Warren Central High School. This event will be an opportunity for families to learn more about all of the wonderful courses, career pathways, experiences, clubs, athletics, and activities that Warren Central has to offer. Information will be presented at the Freshman Learning Center and the process for selecting courses and electives for 9th-grade class schedules. Counselors, Freshman Learning Center teachers, and other staff members will be available to answer questions about class schedules, the Freshman Experience, career pathways, and much more.
