January 10, 2024
Good afternoon, Warren Scholars, Families, and Staff,
I hope your new year has started off in a great way and that you are staying warm as winter is here in full force.
Speaking of winter, I would like to remind everyone of our process in the event of inclement weather. In the event that we experience precipitation or temperatures that would create unsafe conditions for students and staff, a decision will be made to either delay the start of school, early release, or cancel school for the day. We have put together an inclement weather information page that can be found on our district website, which is linked here.
We are excited to share that Warren Central High School is seeking board approval to shift to a block schedule beginning the 2024-2025 school year. We have spent time over the last few months evaluating the effectiveness of our current model and researching other high schools in the area that have already made this schedule transition. Block scheduling is a way of designing daily schedules for students. Simply put, students will have fewer classes that will have extended time per day, but the subjects will be on a rotation on a daily basis.
We invite all PK-12 Warren families to attend the proposed block scheduling informational meeting that will be held tomorrow, Thursday, January 11, at 6 pm at Warren Central High School. Please enter through Door 1. Also, we would love to hear from you. Please take a moment to complete the Block Schedule Parent Survey linked below.

MSD Warren Township and the Warren School Board will host its Annual Legislative Forum on Saturday, February 3, from 9:00 to 11:00 am. This event will be held at the Warren Education and Community Center at 975 North Post Road. Parents, staff, and community members are invited to attend to engage with District and school board leaders, local legislators, and our community on topics related to public education in the current legislative session. No registration is required.
This is a reminder that students and staff do not attend school on Monday, January 15, in recognition of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. The 23-24 school calendar is linked here.
Thank you for your continued support and investments in Warren students, schools, and staff. #WarrenWill create Joy in the Journey.
