2027–28 Redistricting Proposals & Community Feedback

Dear Warren Staff and Families,

As we prepare for the 2027–28 school year and the return of fifth grade to our elementary schools, we are moving into an important part of our redistricting process: hearing from you.

Working with our demographer, Woolpert, we have developed three possible boundary proposals. Each proposal looks at important factors such as school enrollment, building capacity, transportation, distance from school, and feedback we have already received from our community.

The three proposals are:

  • Least Students Moved – focuses on changing schools for the fewest number of students.

  • Balanced Enrollment – focuses on balancing the number of students across our schools.

  • Efficient Transportation – focuses on creating more efficient bus routes while also considering enrollment and distance from home to school.

Each proposal has benefits and challenges. No final decision or recommendation has been made. We are sharing these options now because we want our staff, families, and community to help us determine the best path forward.

Community Feedback Meetings

We will host two Community Feedback Meetings tonight and tomorrow where families, staff, and community members can review the proposals, ask questions, and share feedback:

Creston Intermediate Middle School

10925 E Prospect Street

Monday, September 28, 6:30 PM –7:30 PM

Stonybrook Intermediate Middle School

1130 Stonybrook Drive

Tuesday, September 29, 6:30 PM –7:30 PM

Both meetings will follow an open house format, so you may arrive at any time during the scheduled hour. You will be able to review each of the three proposals, talk with district staff, ask questions, and provide feedback. There will not be a formal presentation, so you do not need to arrive at 6:30 p.m.

You are welcome to attend either meeting. Both locations will provide the same information and opportunities to share your input. If you are unable to attend, you can still review all of the information and provide feedback using the resources below.

Review the Proposals and Share Your Feedback

We have several resources available to help you learn about the proposals and see how your family may be affected:

Narrated Presentation – Watch a presentation that explains the redistricting process and the thinking behind each proposal.

Boundary Maps – View our current school boundaries and all three proposed boundary maps.

School Locator – Enter your home address to see which school your student would attend under each proposal.

Input Survey – After reviewing the proposals, please complete the survey to share your feedback and questions. We want to hear from you even if your family is not directly affected by a boundary change. Your feedback will be reviewed and used to help shape the boundary recommendation.

You can also visit our Redistricting Website for additional information, resources, and updates throughout the redistricting process.

Maps Available During Parent-Teacher Conferences

Large maps showing the current boundaries and the three proposed boundary options have also been provided to our schools and will be available for families to review during Parent-Teacher Conferences on Thursday and Friday.

Maps are available at the Early Childhood Center, Moorhead Community Resource Center, Warren Education and Community Center, all nine elementary schools, and our three intermediate/middle schools.

Over the next few weeks, we will continue to share information and collect feedback. During Fall Break, some of our Family Engagement Liaisons will also reach out to families who may be affected by the proposed changes. We want to make sure families know about the process and have an opportunity to share their thoughts.

What Happens Next?

After we collect feedback, Woolpert will review what we heard from our staff, families, and community. Based on that feedback, we may make changes to one of the three proposals, create a new proposal, or move forward with one of the proposals as presented.

We will then share the updated proposal and provide another opportunity for community feedback before bringing a recommendation to the School Board in November for discussion.

Your voice matters in this process. We know that changing school boundaries can have a real impact on students, families, and neighborhoods. We want this process to be open, thoughtful, and shaped by the people we serve.

Please take some time to review the proposals, use the School Locator to see how your family may be affected, attend one of our Community Feedback Meetings if you are able, and please complete the Input Survey.

Thank you for your continued partnership and for helping us plan for the future of Warren Township.

With Warren Pride,

Dr. Tim Hanson
