The JoG (Journey of a Graduate) Centers are designed to serve as Warren Township’s middle-school hub for career exploration and college-and-career readiness, helping students connect what they learn in school to future opportunities before they make high-school course selections.
What is the Purpose of JoG Centers?
Career Exploration: Students engage in hands-on, real-world, career-connected learning across high-growth career clusters. The plan is for students to rotate through six career clusters before entering 9th grade, aligned with opportunities at Warren Central High School and the Walker Career Center.
Applying JoG Skills: The Centers provide students with opportunities to practice the skills, competencies, and dispositions identified in Warren’s Journey of a Graduate framework.
Connecting the K–12 Journey: The JoG Centers are designed to link students’ K–5 career experiences to 9–12 coursework, credentials, and pathways, creating a coherent progression rather than isolated career activities.
Supporting Informed High-School Decisions: By exposing students to career possibilities in grades 6–8, the Centers are intended to help students make informed, skills-based decisions about high-school courses and pathways.
The JoG Centers are the bridge between career awareness and career preparation. Warren students will discover their interests, practice JoG competencies, explore career clusters, and enter high school better prepared to select coursework and pathways that lead toward credentials, college, careers, and postsecondary success.

What are the Features of the JoG Centers?
JoG Centers are designed as modern, career-connected learning environments rather than traditional classrooms. The planned features include:
Hands-on Exploration Labs: Lab space with movable tables, tools, technology, and storage for students to build, design, diagnose, and create.
Outfitted for Flexibility: Special attention has been given to equipping the JoG Center labs with a range of resources that can grow and adapt to career interests. JoG Center labs will have additional power, ventilation, plumbing, and mechanical systems that can be configured in multiple ways to support programming.
