The Metropolitan School District of Warren Township continues to set the standard for excellence in educational leadership, as its School Board has once again been recognized with the Exemplary Governance Award (EGA) from the Indiana School Boards Association (ISBA). This year’s honor marks an extraordinary milestone—the fourth consecutive year the Warren Township School Board has earned this prestigious distinction.

Even more impressive, Warren Township stands among only five school districts across the entire state of Indiana to receive the Exemplary designation in 2025. This recognition is not simply an award—it is a reflection of sustained dedication, discipline, and a deep-rooted commitment to doing what is best for students and the community.
The EGA is awarded based on a board’s commitment to continuous professional learning and effective governance. Members accumulate points by actively participating in seminars, workshops, and conferences, as well as engaging in strategic planning efforts like goal setting and facilitated retreats. For Warren Township, this honor underscores a culture where growth, accountability, and student achievement are always at the forefront.
ISBA Executive Director Terry Spradlin praised award recipients for their service, noting that well-trained and engaged school board members are better equipped to meet the evolving needs of students. That sentiment rings especially true in Warren Township, where leadership is clearly intentional and impact-driven.
For the Warren community, this recognition is personal. It reflects a School Board that is not only leading—but listening, learning, and striving—year after year—to create the best possible outcomes for every student they serve.
