January 31, 2024
Good afternoon, Warren Scholars, Families, and Staff,
We have a couple of important announcements for the week of January 31st.
MSD Warren Township and the Warren School Board will host its Annual Legislative Forum on Saturday, February 3rd, from 9:00 - 11:00 am. This event will be held at the Warren Education and Community Center at 975 North Post Road. Parents, staff, and community members are invited to attend to engage with District and school board leaders, local legislators, and our community on topics related to public education in the current legislative session. No registration is required.
Congratulations to all of our Elementary and Intermediate Middle School students who participated in the District’s 2nd Annual Science & Engineering Fair last week! K-8 students from all of our Warren schools did an amazing job with their projects! Thank you, students, teachers, parents, and administrators, for supporting this event! Check out this video!
Attention 2nd and 3rd Grade Students and Families: 2nd and 3rd graders across the District will take the IREAD3 assessment from March 4 to 15. This assessment is used to measure foundational reading skills based on Indiana Academic Standards through 3rd grade. All 2nd and 3rd-grade teachers will be sharing more information on IREAD3 in the coming weeks. The table below provides a blueprint of the reading skills that are included in the assessment. If you have any questions on the IREAD3 assessment, please visit the Indiana Department of Education IREAD3 website linked here or contact your child’s school.
Please remember there is no school on Monday, February 19th, and an eLearning day is scheduled for Tuesday, February 20th. 3rd graders and 9th- 12th grade students will be asynchronous, while K-2 students and students in grades 4th- 8th will be synchronous. More details will be shared from your child’s school over the next couple of weeks. The 23-24 school calendar is linked here.
Thank you for your continued support and investments in Warren students, schools, and staff. #WarrenWill create Joy in the Journey.
Dr. Tim Hanson, Superintendent of Schools for MSD Warren Township
